Welcome
Welcome to the 'Let Freedom Ring' Web Ring hosted by 'The Foundation for Religious Freedom'. Included on this page is a description of the ring, a set of criteria that sites wishing to join the ring should meet, instructions on how to join the ring, a form for submitting your site for consideration for inclusion, and a form whereby you can edit the details of your site. For further information please email David S. Hinkley the ring manager and webmaster for the Foundation for Religious Freedom.

Description
The Let Freedom Ring Web Ring is intended as a forum, a kind of publicly visible online petition, for sites that oppose wish to preserve or gain the freedoms as spelled out by the US Constitution and the UN Charter. This opposition can take a number of forms and will include theoretical/academic sites, sites oriented to practical challenges to government ideologies, sites that represent activist groups opposed to, and engaged with, challenges to laws, policies and activities of governments or organizations... and so on. This is also a forum for any that are freely and actively expressing themselves under the umbrella of their universal rights, such as: Churches, Religious Organizations, Media Organizations, Private Speak-Out Pages, etc..

For a list of sites already in the ring, click here.

Criteria for joining the ring
Sites wishing to join this ring must, in some way or another, address the issues outlined above or be practicing the use of these rights.

However, should you feel that your site may not be strictly related to these issues, but you still wish to join the ring, please email David Hinkley - we currently wish to expand the ring and would not want to exclude sites that would contribute to the ring in ways that we have failed to either consider or describe - after all, this is above all a petition of people and groups. If you do not currently have a site but want to publicly petition for freedom with us, then get your own page with us -you can have anything you want on your page and I'll do all of the work for you - sign up here.

In addition, sites that contain illegal, pornographic, libellous or defamatory material (or links to such material) will be excluded from the ring. It is a condition of subscribing to this ring that you ensure that your site contains no material of this nature.

A major aim of this list is to challenge the oppressive practices of governments and to provide a voice for those oppressed by such practices - in line with this, sites that promote oppression, or contain material deemed to be oppressive (or to have oppressive implications) will, likewise, be excluded. On the positive side, the foremost aim of this list is to express our freedoms uniquely serverally and together from every nation, background and faith.

In terms of more practical matters, your site must;

  • include the required HTML/ code and display the ring graphic with all its links on the homepage of the approved site. You can also use the code on other areas of your site in addition to your homepage; e.g. resources, links section ...
  • you may actually place the HTML/ code on another page like a webring page -But it must be only one page deep. This means that there must be at least one clear, distinctly marked link to that page on your site's home page.
All sites are subject to approval by the 'Let Freedom Ring' Webmaster, who reserves the right to refuse or remove a site for any reason.

A site can be removed from the ring if:

  • it breaks the ring and doesn't respond to two notices.
  • it doesn't display the required HTML code on an acceptable page.
  • it adds material, after its initial acceptance, that is found to be in violation of the rules above.
  • it moves without advising the 'Let Freedom Ring' webmaster of its new address.
How to join the 'Let Freedom Ring' Web Ring
If your site meets the above criteria and you agree to the rules, you may submit your site for acceptance. Simply follow the step-by-step instructions listed below and you will be placed into the webring queue.

Once you have followed all the steps, your site will be reviewed and you will be notified via e-mail of your acceptance. At this stage, your site will be moved from the queue to the main Critical Psychology Web Ring.
